Pictures of Business and Pleasure Trip to Bombay India in early 1960s. Lot of 29 slides, 2-1/4 inch square, Rollei brand color slides in mounts. Slides are in good condition, with only one show some deterioration at a corner. The mounts of plastic are well preserved. Colors seem fairly bright still, but there is a color shift to the red. Mounts are marked Lifacolor, made in W. Germany. They may have been processed in Germany. The slides do have some dust particles on them but the film itself is protected between two pieces of acetate in these high quality mounts. Probably the mounts could be taken apart and the film carefully cleaned to remove the dust. A couple of the photos look good enough to be in an old National Geographic or Life magazine. We have tried to show you a selection of them but do email if you have any questions. Scenes show: a historic ruins site, the front of the Hotel Imperial, Bombay House directory listing, street views of shopping districts, a couple of views of shopping for jewelry, and hand made brassware. One view of coffee or tea making in brass vessels, the cloth dye works district; there are 29 views in all. The plastic tray holds 30 slides at capacity. Note, the Bombay House is the historic headquarters building of the Tata Motors since the 1920s. Includes pull out cardboard box for storage of the slide tray. Box is marked Rollei - Magazin 77 Code Pomro Franke & Heidecke, Braunschweig. Box is worn at edges, water stained at corners, and dingy with age.
